The Freedom to See Rome Anew

This workshop carries that name because it teaches that exact thing. Rome is the most photographed city on earth and it still hasn’t been seen. I spent eight years learning to see it, the magazine put its name on the result, and for six people at a time, I teach it on the same streets.
Here’s how it works. You shoot every day. Every day I critique your work, one on one, in front of the group. Then we edit, because the contact sheet is where photographers are made, and we sequence, so your pictures say something together that none of them says alone.
You’ll also work from, and keep, the printed field manual of my workshop program: The Street Is the Classroom. Three parts, Seeing, Making, Building. The working canon of the photographers who built this art form. Sixty field assignments. The critique framework we use at the table every evening. It’s printed, it’s bound, and it’s yours. Write in it.
WHAT YOU GET
· Daily shooting on Rome’s streets in a group capped at six
· Daily individual critique of your work
· Editing and sequencing at the table every evening: you leave with a finished, ordered set
· The printed student edition of The Street Is the Classroom. Yours to keep.
· Direct access to me for the length of the workshop, on the street and at the table

AFTER YOU BOOK
Your confirmation arrives immediately. Within 24 hours I’ll email you personally with your welcome pack: the meeting point, the daily schedule, what to bring, and how to prepare. Questions before then: perryhallphoto@gmail.com.
TERMS OF ENROLLMENT
What tuition covers. Your fee pays for instruction only. Travel, lodging, meals, drinks, and your own equipment are yours to arrange and pay for.
Who can attend. You must be 18 or older. Workshop days involve long hours of walking; make sure your health is up to it, and talk to a doctor first if you’re unsure.
Booking. A seat is held only by payment in full at registration.
If I cancel. I reserve the right to cancel the workshop for any reason, including illness, low enrollment, or events outside anyone’s control such as natural disaster, government action, or civil unrest. If that happens, your tuition is refunded in full. Travel and lodging costs are not reimbursed, which is one reason to buy travel insurance.
If you cancel. Tuition is not refundable. You may send a replacement in your place, or move your payment to another workshop of equal value within the same calendar year.
Changes. The itinerary may shift where it improves the workshop. I also reserve the right to accept, decline, or remove any participant at my discretion.
Risk. Street photography happens in public, on foot, in a living city. By enrolling you accept the risks of participation, including travel between locations, and you release Perry Hall from claims for personal injury, illness, loss, or damage to property arising from the workshop, including disruptions caused by events beyond his control. I’m not responsible for the acts of other participants or third-party providers.
Insurance. Get travel insurance. Personal liability coverage is also strongly recommended.
Photos of you. Photographs made during the workshop that include participants may be used to promote future workshops.
Registering means you’ve read and accepted these terms, which may be updated as necessary, and participants will be notified of any changes.
