THE STREET IS THE CLASSROOM
Mexico City · Día de Muertos · October 30 – November 2, 2026
Mexico City gives you almost too much to photograph. During Día de Muertos, the city is full of movement, color, ceremony, and noise. The challenge is not finding pictures. The challenge is learning what to leave out.
The Street Is the Classroom: Mexico City is a four-day photography workshop for photographers who want to sharpen how they see, shoot, edit, and sequence work in the street.
This is a focused, hands-on workshop limited to six participants. Each day, we work on foot, make photographs in real time, review the work together, and build toward a finished set of images.
Midway through the workshop, we focus on the edit: what is working, what is not, and how to make stronger decisions from the contact sheet. On the final day, we sequence the work so you leave Mexico City with a clear, intentional set of photographs rather than a full memory card.
The Field Manual
Every seat includes a printed copy of The Street Is the Classroom, the field manual at the center of this program.
Written from years of working, teaching, and learning in the street, the manual gives you a practical framework for seeing, making, editing, and building stronger photographs. It is designed to be used during the workshop and returned to long after you leave Mexico City.
The manual is not sold separately. The only way to receive one is to be in the room.
Tuition
$750 total
Reserve your seat with a $250 deposit. The remaining $500 will be invoiced 14 days before the first day of the workshop.
Your seat is confirmed once the deposit is received.
Six seats only.
Deposits are not refundable, but they may be transferred in full to another person or another city within the same calendar year.
