From the Streets to Strategy: Athens Street Photography Festival

About the Teacher

Perry Hall’s photography is shaped by experience, persistence, and years spent working directly on the street. His approach has never been guided by trends or algorithms. The strength of his work comes from developing a clear point of view and remaining committed to it over time.

Hall spent more than a decade living in Italy, traveling internationally, and photographing daily life across different cultures and environments. During that time, he refined his instincts, timing, and visual language through observation and direct engagement with people and places.

His work has been featured in The New Yorker and other international publications. He has also collaborated with brands and organizations including Nickelodeon, Den of Geek, Paramount, NHRA, Wingstop, the NBA, Austin Monthly, and others.

These collaborations happened because of his perspective, creative execution, and ability to deliver strong visual results — not because he changed his style to fit a brief.

What You Will Gain From This Workshop

This six-hour session is focused on helping photographers recognise the value of their own creative approach to street photography and understand how it can create real professional opportunities.

Participants will reflect on what defines their work and learn how to communicate that perspective clearly to brands, companies, and media outlets.

Throughout the workshop, Perry will share insights from his experience working with publications and commercial clients and others that have come before him. The session includes practical exercises and discussions designed to help you:

  • Clarify your creative voice

  • Speak confidently about your work

  • Position yourself for meaningful collaborations

The conversation will also explore practical ways photographers can build sustainable income through their work — including licensing, print sales, workshops, and other avenues that allow independence while continuing to develop personal projects.

This is not a marketing lecture or a social media growth class. It is focused on real experience, practical strategy, and building a long-term career around your way of seeing.

For photographers who want to move beyond posting images online and begin creating tangible opportunities around their work, this workshop provides a clear starting point.
